The International Carrom Federation (ICF) was established  on 15th October 1988 at Madras (Chennai), India.

The founding members of the ICF were All India Carrom Federation, Carrom Federation of Sri Lanka, Carrom Association of Maldives, Carrom Association of Switzerland, German Carrom Federation and Carrom Sports Association GDR and Carrom Association of Malaysia.

Martin Meyer was elected as president and B. Bangaru Babu as Secretary General.

Today ICF has many national Carrom federations in its fold.
